GUWAHATI: The CID have arrested 25 people, including students, so far in connection with the leakage of the General Science question paper for the HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) examination. Among the arrested were 12 minor students, and other 13 included four service holders. According to reports, the CID arrested three people on Tuesday. They were Jyotirekha Borgohain, centre in-charge of BDS Government Higher Secondary School for the Hearing Impaired, Kahilipara; Heramba Kumar Das, assistant centre in-charge of the same school, and Chitra Roy, a fourth-grade casual worker of the school.

According to sources, after interrogation at the CID office, altogether 22 people were arrested. Two were from Sadiya, five from Lakhimpur, four from Tinsukia, nine from Dibrugarh, and two from Dhemaj.

On Tuesday, after being detained by the police, they were brought to the CID office. A case (3/2023 u/s 120 (B)/420/427 R/W Section 66 (b) of the IT Act) has been registered by the CID in this connection, where the investigation has been intensified.

On the other hand, the police have kept up the interrogation process in places like Tezpur Gogamukh, Lakhimpur, and others. According to CID sources, the majority of the arrested students were from private institutions.
