Indian Air Force pays tribute to COVID-19 warriors

GUWAHATI: The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Sunday held several activities as show of tribute to the frontline workers who are battling against the outbreak of COVID-19, here on Sunday.

Around 11 am the IAF choppers showered flower petals over the GMCH (Guwahati Medical College and Hospital) and MMCH (Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital) to express gratitude to the corona warriors. Meanwhile, the IAF bands visited hospitals and played tunes in an expression of gratitude to the workers.

It was part of the nationwide thanksgiving effort by the armed forces to honour doctors, paramedics, sanitation staff and other front-line workers battling coronavirus. The GMCH and the MMCH are among the designated facilities in the State to treat COVID-19. In other parts of the State, the Army conducted a wreath laying ceremony for the martyrs and paid tribute to the police personnel who are working tirelessly to enforce the lockdown.
