Indo Tibetan Border Police, Guwahati celebrates 59th Raising Day

GUWAHATI: The 59th Raising Day of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was celebrated by 33rd Battalion, ITBP, Guwahati on October 24. During the celebration a parade was led by Assistant Commandant Satyendra Nath Mishra.

The flag was hosted by Manish Kumar, Commandant, 33rd Battalion, ITBP. During his address, Commandant Kumar conveyed greetings to all the Force personnel and their families on the auspicious day. He said that the ITBP was raised in the year 1962 after Indo China was to guard 3,488 km borders in Himalayas. "Since its inception this force is performing its duty with full dedication, commitment and valour. Apart from border guarding, the force is also performing other duties i.e. foreign mission assigned by Government of India from time to time. That is why the nation feels proud of this force," he added.

As a part of the event, badminton competition and painting competition was organized, stated a release. Himveer of 33rd Battalion ITBP performed Bihu and Bhangra dance and children of ITBP personnel and Game Village society also performed on patriotic songs.
