Inland Water Transport Employees Placed Under Suspension

GUWAHATI: Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary has directed Inland Water Transport Directorate to suspend the employees related to a pontoon which got partially submerged deployed at Chaulkhowa-Aparia-Gobardhan ferry service for gross negligence of duties.

Accordingly, Director, IWT has placed Sahnur Ali, Sectional Assistant; Puspa Bora, Laskar; Liladhar Nath, Laskar; Tarani Kalita, Field Khalasi; Khalasis Maheswar Bhuyan, Dwarika Chowdhury and Mantu Kumar Goswami under suspension.

The incumbents will not leave headquarter without prior permission of the competent authority. The Transport Minister has stated that negligence of duty will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those found guilty, stated a release.
