International Conference on Role of Biodiversity held at IIE

GUWAHATI: The inaugural function of the International Conference on ‘Role of Biodiversity in Promotion of Adventure Tourism and Entrepreneurship’ was held in the Auditorium of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship on February 22, 2019. The function began with the welcome address by Dr Caroline Basumata, Organizing Secretary and Convenor and Presided over by Dr Abhijit Kataky, Organizing President and HOD, Zoology Department, Hojai College, Hojai. The dignitaries present in the meeting were Dr Shankar Lal Garg, Founder and Editor-in-Chief, World Researchers’ Association (Chief Guest of the Conference), Bhaskar Phukan, ACS, Managing Director (ATDC), Dr Sarawuth Chesoh Department of Science and Technology, Prince of Songkhla University, Pattani, Thailand (Inaugural Invited speaker); Dr Prakash Lohar, Professor and Head, Department of Zoology and Biotechnology, KBC North Maharashtra University (Invited speaker and Chairperson); Dr Abhijit Sharma, Director, IIE, Guwahati and Dr Jogen Chandra Kalita, Professor and Head, Zoology Dept. and Director, Human Resource Department (Gauhati University). More than fifty scientist, young scholars, and students and employee of the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship participated in this august gathering. The function concluded with brief speech by the dignitaries and concluding speech by the organizing President. The dignitaries and the participants proceeded to the Conference hall for the technical sessions.
