IRCTC to Provide Special  Tourists Train from Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Sept 19: With the beginning of the tourist season, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC), Guwahati office has once again planned for the running of the Bharat Darshan Special Tourist Trains from Guwahati.

Talking to The Sentinel, NFR PRO Nripen Bhattacharya said that three numbers of Bharat Darshan trips have been scheduled to run from Guwahati in the months of November this year followed by January and February, 2019. The trips will include famous and prominent religious tourist destinations like Mata Vaishnodevi, Amritsar, West India and South India. The trips have been planned in accordance to the season of the destinations.

Bhattacharya further informed The Sentinel that the first trip is scheduled for Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine along with Amritsar. The trip will start in the morning of 10th November from Gauhati Railway Station and would directly go to Shree Mata Vaishnodevi Katra station, where the tourists would visit the holy shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi. The visitors would be provided with 2 nights halt at Katra for Darshan and convenience.

On the return leg, the train will halt at Amritsar for visit of the famous Golden Temple. Other destinations of tourist importance, Jallianwala Bagh and Wagah Border will also be covered during halt at Amritsar. The tourists will be provided with one night stay at Amritsar so that they may cover the destinations at Amritsar comfortably. The trip will conclude at Guwahati railway station on the evening of November 17.

The entire train journey will be facilitated by a special tourist train in sleeper class. The package will include all major meals (vegetarian) during the entire trip, tourist buses for land transportation, accommodation of the tourists at Dharamshalas for night halts and morning freshen up, drinking water bottles. All the tourists will be guided by dedicated tour escorts throughout the tour and for the safety and security of the tourist and their belongings during the train journey, security guards will be provided in each coach.

The January 18, 2019 trip will cover the circuit of Ujjain – Dwarka – Somnath – Shirdi – Nasik. The trip will end and conclude at Guwahati on January 31, 2019. Later trip is scheduled on February 20, 2019 which will include major tourist destinations of Visakhapatanam – Tirupati – Kanyakumari – Rameshwaram – Madurai – Puri would be covered. The trip is planned in such a way so that the major religious destinations of South India could be covered in a single trip, Bhattacharya added.
