In a statement issued to the media on Sunday, KRNC general secretary Biswajit Ray said, "The BTC Accord has to be dissolved in the interest of equal development for tribal and non-tribal people. The Convention has raised this demand before the State and the Central governments.

"We also demand immediate formation of the Kamatapur Autonomous Council and the Koch-Rajbongshi Development Council with the agitating leaders of the community."
