GUWAHATI: The overall flood situation in Goalpara, Nagaon, Hojai and Cachar has slighly improved even as the water level of the Kopili River in Nagaon district is flowing above the danger level.

According the Flood Report issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Friday evening stated that the current wave of flood has affected 92 villages in four districts with crop area of 24,097 hectares. Altogether 55,677 people have been affected and 2,392 persons are taking shelter in 21 relief camps across Goalpara, Nagaon, Hojai and Cachar districts.

On other hand the Brahmaputra and other rivers are causing erosion in Majuli, Sonitpur, Biswanath and Dibrugarh districts.
