Left-Democratic Manch, Assam (LDMA) Organized Protest Rally Against Citizenship Bill

GUWAHATI: Left-Democratic Manch, Assam (LDMA) organized a protest rally here in the city on Monday. The protest was against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill-2016 in demand that the Bill be withdrawn. In this regard, they have submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the DC Kamrup (M). LDMA further added that the Bill shall not be accepted under any circumstances and it can eradicate the secularity of religion provided by the constitution. “As India is a secular country, the process of providing citizenship based on religion is not as per the constitution”, they stated.
