Leopard fell into a well in Boragaon area in the city and died

GUWAHATI: A leopard fell into a well in the Boragaon area in the city on Sunday night and died. Hunger pangs might have led the feline to make inroad into human habitation and meet his death.

According to local people, they did inform the Forest department and the police of the incident. "However, both forest and police personnel came late, leading to the death of the leopard," a local of the area said.

The body of the leopard was taken out from the 40-foot-deep well by Forest officials this morning.
