Lok Sabha Election: 2 Flying Squad Members Arrested

GUWAHATI: To ensure a free and transparent Lok Sabha polls, the District Administration had administered a few flying squads. Two members of the flying squad were arrested on Sunday after a complaint by a businessman Jahangir Alom. According to Alom, the two flying squad members, Dipankar Hazarika, Ranger of Soil Conservation Department and Ali Kamal Hussain, Gram Sevak of Chandrapur Development Block captured Alom, who was carrying a cash of Rs 2.50 lakh. After admonishing him, the duo kept Rs 50 thousand for themselves and let him go. Alom registered an FIR (208/19 u/s 392 IPC) at Goirchuck police station. The duo was caught on Sunday and after presenting them before court on Monday, were sent to judicial custody.
