Lone Cottonian takes out silent Padyatra to Dispur against CAA

GUWAHATI: A student of Cotton University came in to the street through the medium of mime so as to protest against CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act)

Ibrahim Khalil , a student of Cotton University and also a mime artist took a unique way to express his resentment against CAA by silently walking to Dispur from Cotton University entrance. However he was stopped by police officials near Dighalipukhuri. Hence he couldn’t complete his protest.

Before starting his protest Ibrahim Khalil said, “As a mime artist and a student of Cotton university, I’ve decided to walk alone to express my resentment against CAA. I’ll walk to Dispur with the hope, if the government understands what every Assamese are demanding.”

“I’ve my right to speak. I’m determined to go to Dispur. I’ve painted the symbol of Hindu Muslim and Christian in my face, so as to make the government understand that we the people of Assam are one and Assamese will never accept the politics of division.” He added

After being stopped by the administration and not being able to carry on his protest he said, “We’d informed the administration about it. I’m not coming in group.i’ll not call it as a success of the government that they stopped a silent protest that too taken by one individual. Hence , I’ll call it as a failure of the government that they’re trying to silence my right to speak.”
