Market faces scarcity of goods due To Janata Curfew

GUWAHATI: A complete shutdown was observed on the city markets because of the Janata Curfew on Sunday. The corona scare has led to an increase in the food prices that have become a matter of concern for the citizens. On Saturday, the scarcity of fish, vegetables, meat and other essential goods were witnessed in Sixmile market and Super market.

Talking to The Sentinel a vendor in Sixmile market said, “We are packing up early today. All the fish that we brought have already been sold out”. However, what has become a matter of concern is the crowd at the market places. People rushed out from their houses to fill stock of goods for their home. Many also expressed concern over the matter that avoiding mass gathering is the need of hour to fight COVID-19.
