Martyrs’ Day to be observed on January 30, 2019

GUWAHATI: Martyrs’ Day will be observed on January 30, 2019 in the state of Assam along with the rest of the country in memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India’s freedom. In connection to that, the District and Sub-Divisional Administrations will observe the Martyrs’ Day like the previous years. Two minutes silence will be observed at 11 am on January 30 in memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India’s freedom. It has been instructed that silence should be observed at work and movement of vehicles shall be stopped for two minutes at 11 am on the day. The commencement and termination of the two minute silence, sirens will be sounded from 10.59 am till 11 am. After two minutes silence is over, all clear sirens will be sounded again from 11.02 am till 11.03 am. On hearing the signal (wherever available) all person should stand up and observe the silence.
