GUWAHATI: Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna chaired a meeting of the Strategy Group of Unified Command Structure at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara on Tuesday. In the meeting discussions were held to improve coordination between the army and the police during operations. It was decided that when the army will conduct operations in rural areas along with the local police, the Gaon Burah should be present. In case of tea estates, the Sardar should be present with the army and the police.

The meeting stressed that before interrogating a detainee, health check should be conducted. It also emphasized on the incident of alleged custodial death of a youth at Borholla, Titabor. Importance was given that in any operation human rights should not be violated. Besides these, the activities of rebel groups, anti-militant operations and internal security were noted.
