GUWAHATI: The Bangalore Mishing Society of Assam (BMSA) has assured the stranded people of Assam in Bangalore that it will help them as much as possible. The Society has asked them not to panic.

The BMSA team said that it, along with TMPK Bangalore volunteers, is reaching out to all stranded Mishing people of Assam and other people of the north-eastern region in Bangalore, Karnataka.

The volunteers have distributed rations to 2,000 members in 38 different locations in Karnataka. The volunteers, including Bhaskar Misong, Jyoti Prasad Pegu, Malaya Doley, Hemanga Pegu, Jatin Pait, Anup Pegu, Naba Kaman and many others are continuously distributing essential goods to the needy people of Assam and the Northeast.

The team has appealed to the stranded people of Assam and Northeast not to panic but contact BMSA, TMPK Bangalore and Ghanadhar Jimey and Bhaskar Misong in case they are in need of food and groceries, besides other help in urgency. One of the team members Naba Kaman said that BMSA vice president Ghanadhar Jimey has been leading the team to make sure that the rations are being delivered to all the needy people at their doorstep during lockdown.

The BMSA and the TMPK Bangalore have further thanked Karnataka Government, DCP of South East division Bangalore Srinath Joshi and the donors, especially Christopher Rego, the founder of Sunbird Trust, for helping them in carrying the activities.
