GUWAHATI: The Oxom Nirman Dol (OND) launched a mobile service App at Guwahati Press Club on Sunday as an initiative to bring all opposing the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) on one platform. The aim is to present the App as a ‘referendum’ in the next hearing of the Supreme Court of India. Biju Stafford, father of Sam Stafford who lost his life amidst anti-CAA agitation, formally inaugurated the mobile number.

Inaugurating the App, Biju Stafford and his family members said that the current scenario give them such a feeling that the anti-CAA agitation and the sacrifices of the martyrs have gone in vein.

OND president Upen Raj Nath said that one of the aims of launching of the mobile App is to take advantage of technology to build a platform to stand against the CAA. Nath said, “Unlimited number of people can give miss calls to the number. The number of people giving miss calls will be counted as a stand against the CAA. Thus it’ll be a survey to get a number as to how many people of Assam are against the CAA. We are thinking of using it as a referendum in the next SC hearing.”

Raj Nath said, “We want to appeal to the AASU, AJYCP and other organizations to spread the message regarding launching of the mobile number i.e. 9999726880. The people who are against the CAA can give miss calls to this number.”

Nath further said that though OND is a political party, but at the moment is focusing on the scrapping of the CAA.
