More Temple Items Recovered; DGP In-Charge Rewards Police And SDRF Personnel

GUWAHATI: The total number of temple items recovered from the Brahmaputra near Uzanbazar-Umananda Parghat in Guwahati rose to 45, including idols, on Sunday.

According to police sources, barring the claim over an idol by Nirendra Kumar Seal from Beltola, no other claim over the idols has come. Visiting Latasil Police Station this morning, newly appointed State DGP in-charge Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta lauded the police for their quick response to the situation. He has rewarded 15 police and SDRF personnel for their success in the recovery. The amounts of rewards and personnel receiving them are – inspector Upen Kalita (Rs.10,000), WSI(P) Suchitra Biswas (Rs. 7,000), SI (P) Mansing Teron (Rs. 7,000), UBC Gautam Das (Rs. 5,000). UBC Dipak Lahkar (Rs. 5,000), HG Chand Md. Ali (Rs. 3,000), SC Nabajyoti Borah (Rs. 7,000), SUB officer Chandra Kr. Mandal (Rs 7,000), ER27 Dilip Urang (Rs. 5,000), ER 225 Joy Kishan Tanti (Rs. 5,000), ER 113 Dipankar Borah (Rs. 5,000), ER 125 Biswajit Saikia (Rs. 5,000), ER203 Pranjit Talukdar (Rs. 5,000), FM1017 Sukumar Saloi (Rs. 5,000) and FM 681 Kankan Kalita (Rs. 5,000).
