Mul Prawah Akhil Bharat Nepali Samaj Demands Inclusion of Names in NRC

GUWAHATI: Mul Prawah Akhil Bharat Nepali Samaj has demanded the inclusion of the names of people of Nepali communities who were denied inclusion in the National Register of Citizens, without any condition.

Referring to the Treaty of Sugauli in 1816, after two years of war in the days of British rule with India, the organization said that during that time a large part of Nepal was merged with India and a part of India in Nepal. During that time, the inhabitants of seven allied lands of their gross assets attained Indian citizenship. This link became stronger in independent India after the Nepal-India peace agreement of 31 July 1950. The close relationship with the common culture maintained participation in employment opportunities as well. Similarly, the standard date of the Assam Accord remained until March 25, 1971, the rights of the Nepalese. Later, this was also confirmed by the Supreme Court.

The organization said that while some Nepalese have been denied inclusion in NRC due to degree differences, some deprived have illiteracy received from the British, migration due to temporary occupation, lack of system of birth certificate before 1985. Describing the need of door-to-door verification, Krishna Kshetri proceeded to find an amicable solution to the matter.
