National Children Theatre Festival from January 20 at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The 8th National Children Theatre Festival is all set to witness the drama performance of child artistes from different parts of the country, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kerala, Bhopal and various parts of Assam. The festival will begin on January 20 at Rabindra Bhawan and continue till January 23 which will be held in association with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Oil India Limited and Sangeet Natak Akademi. Addressing a press conference at Guwahati Press Club on Saturday, chief convener of the festival Hitesh Deka and President Dr. Hitesh Baruah said that a total of nine drama groups from Mumbai, Delhi, Kerala, Bhopal, Guwahati, Darang and Goalpara will stage their dramas. The festival will be formally inaugurated by State Cultural Affairs Minister Naba Kumar Doley. The organizers said that the opening drama of the festival will be the Tic Tac Tales and will be followed by many other dramas, including Beli Olowar Xaadhu, The Old Man, Voice of Silence, Tikoni Rojar Xadhu, Gunotsav, English Medium, and two other dramas.
