NDRF, Guwahati conducts sanitization drive at Kamakhya Temple

GUWAHATI: The personnel of 1st Battalion NDRF Guwahati under the supervision of Commandant Randhir Singh Gill carried out a sanitization drive on the premises of the Kamakhaya Temple, on Sunday. The teams sprayed out disinfectant consisting of Sodium Hypochlorite. Meanwhile, the NDRF medical team carried out thermal screening and distributed masks to needy people on the temple's premises.

The rescuers distributed food, masks and biscuit packets to more than 1,125 needy people at various places in Kamrup. The items were distributed among various villages - Katamura, Nizsundry Gupa, Bargaon, Guimara and Nahira Bijoynagar.

The food items were distributed in collaboration of Amrit Bhog Bhandara Guwahati.

During the programme, the rescuers emphasized on the need of social distancing, hand washing, sanitization and the importance of the lockdown to tackle the spread of COVID-19.
