People of Guwahati to be Vaccinated Before 30th of August, 2021

The Government of Assam is looking forward to fully vaccinate the citizens of Guwahati within 30th August of this year.

Guwahati: Citizens of Guwahati are to be vaccinated within the 30th August of 2021, announces  Assam Health Department.

Notably, the Assam government has set a target to vaccinate the entire population of Kamrup Metropolitan district, under which the state's largest city Guwahati falls, by end of this month, Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta said on Saturday.

It is informed to the media that a list of people will be prepared to incorporate the names of those who have not yet been vaccinated.

Keshab Mahanta, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare said that the required process to accomplish the task will start from today and will continue till the next three days. The list will be prepared with the help of the voters' list which will be received from the voting centers of Assam. Addressing the press, Mahanta said that 1204 voting centers of Assam will help with the name of all the citizens who are 18 years and above of age and are eligible to get vaccinated. However, it is also highlighted by the minister that the toll of Covid 19 cases has gone downwards in other districts of Assam, which is really appreciable. Hence, in order to restrict the number of positive cases in Kamrup (M) specifically, the government has initiated this task. 

Moreover, in order to assist the citizens amid this pandemic situation regarding the availability of vaccines in different centers, the government has also launched the number 8929103776. Any queries related to the availability of Covid 19 vaccines in different centers can be answered through a missed call on this number. 

Keshab Mahanta also instructed the owners of the different shopping malls of the state to showcase a banner in front of the gate stating all the staff of the shop is vaccinated fully. The Minister stated that this Covid 19 vaccine drive will ensure the safety of the citizens. 

It is to be mentioned here that Guwahati continues to report 100 positive cases on a regular basis creating a situation of tension and turmoil among the common people of Guwahati as well as across the other places of the state.
