Prohibition Under Section 144 on Assembly of Over Five Persons

GUWAHATI: In order to prevent disruption in normal functioning of offices, movement of public and flow of traffic during the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, the Guwahati Police has imposed the prohibitory order under Section 144 of Cr.P.C to ban assembly of more than five persons, agitation, demonstration, procession, shouting slogans and speech which are anti-national or have any communal inciting tone etc.

The office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police of East Police district, Guwahati has issued an official order imposing the prohibitory order in areas under Dispur, Bhangagarh, Basistha, Hatigaon, Sonapur and Khetri police stations. The order will remain in force from March 15 till further order.
