Sangeet Sattra performed at Shankardev Kalakhetra, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Against the prevailing pandemic situation arising out of the COVID-19 situation in Assam, the 'Sangeet Sattra' presented the seventh convocation at the Shrimanta Shankardev international auditorium of the Shankardev Kalakhetra here on Saturday.

The ceremony was opening by Padmashree awardee Jatin Goswami with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The general secretary of Sangeet Satra Ranjumoni Saikia delivered the welcome address to all invitees and audience.

The Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, Dr Pratap Jyoti Handique, Secretary of Cultural Affairs Madhurima Baruah Sen and examination controller of Gauhati University --- Dr Dhrubajyoti Chaudhry were present this convocation as chief guests. Two cultural programmes -- 'Kholbadan' and 'Borgeet' were also played during this function. Renowned personalities like 'Sangeet Natak Academy' awardee Padmashree Bayanacharya Ghanakanta Bora, Atulya Madhab Goswami, Rinjumoni Saikia, Partha Pratim Baruah, Nabodev Krishna Shankar Bharati,Gopal Ch.Bordoloi, and Satyajit Bhuyan.
