GUWAHATI: In the name of the Prime Minister, a fake scheme is being run in the State, alleged State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) Minority Morcha leader Matiur Rahman.

The leader underlined that scammers are collecting money in minority-dominated areas in the name of a made up scheme - Pradhan Mantri Shishu Vikas Yojona (PMSVY). In this regard, Rahman has sent a letter to Chief Minister SarbanandaSonowal along with evidence and is seeking his intervention. In his letter, Rahman stated that some anti-government elements are collecting money in the Chaygaon and Delgaon LACs and other minority dominated areas of Assam, in the name of PMSVY.

He informed the CM that the scheme has also been declared fake by the PIB (Press Information Bureau).

Further, he requested the CM to bring a halt to the nexus, which will destroy the future exploitation of the poor and down trodden people of minority communities.

Speaking to the mediapersons, Rahman said that the scammers are distributing leaflets and forms and taking money from the people on the pretext of adding their names on the beneficiary list of the said scheme.

According to the leaflet, the PMSVY provides health insurance for students along with special benefits for girls. The scheme covers students from the age of 5 to 16, the leaflet read.

The leader added that a person has registered a case at the Chaygaon Police Station on July 23. However, no investigation has yet been initiated.
