GUWAHATI, Aug 25: Ace boxer Shiva Thapa dedicated his Arju Award to the people of Assam. He felt, it is the support and blessing of the people of Assam that helped him to reach today’s position.
Thapa arrived in the city today after completing his assignment in Rio Olympics. Although it was not a memorable trip for him to Rio as the boxer bowed out from the competition losing in the first round. However the boxer felt that by participating in the Olympics had learned a lot of new things. The experience would help him a lot in the coming days.
Talking to the media person after his arrival Shiva said, “I admit that I hadn’t performed well in Rio. But it helped me to learn many new things. I am now looking forward for Tokyo Olympics which will be held in 2020. I will keep busy myself for the next four years to book a berth in Next Olympics. ”
Shiva today also requested government to provide all necessary helps to the athletes so that they can prepare themselves properly before a big event.
