Six arrested by Excise sleuths in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Sleuths of the Guwahati Sadar Circle of the Excise department raided the hill areas near Bhangagarh in Guwahati on Saturday and destroyed 500 litres 'pass', a substance used to brewing liquor, and 50 litres local liquor, besides arresting six persons.

The six persons were arrested under Section-53 (1) (a) (d) of the Assam Excise Act, 2018. They were produced before the CJM Court that sent them to judicial custody.

The sleuths raided Kamal Nagar Hill, Baikuntha Nagar Hill, Sonaiguli Hill, etc., areas.
