GUWAHATI: For anybody who attended The Drift Music Festival on March 9 and 10, the weekend was definitely one to remember as festival goers from all walks of life came in to take in the fantastic atmosphere.

According to a press release, the festival was an initiative by Trends conceived by SuperPress, a brand communications agency based in Guwahati. The event kicked off with Project Play on Saturday, a platform for upcoming musicians in the North East to compete and show off their talents through band battles judged by a panel of professionals in the industry. The winners of the contest were Paper Sky, an indie grunge band based in Dimapur, Nagaland. From the heartfelt tunes of Trance Effect, the showmanship of Suraj Mani and the Tattva Trip, the lyrical mastery of The Baartalaap Project by Shankuraj Konwar, the happy vibes of When Chai Met Toast, and ending the day with a journey through the Soundscapes with electronic producer Gurbax. Day 1 had a great reception; it was difficult to imagine how it could get any better.
