Two arrested in pre-matric scholarship scam in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Two of the prime accused in the pre-matric scholarship scam were arrested on Friday. The accused have been identified as Sukumuddin (29) and Yusuf Ali (29). Following arrest, Sukumuddin was produced before the CJM Court, Kamrup (Metro). He has been sent to four days police remand

He is the owner of Customer Service Point (CSP) of Bank of Baroda located at Champupara Bazar under Chaygaon PS. He had been absconding to evade arrest.

Meanwhile, Yusuf Ali was arrested by Mornoi Police Station and was brought to the CID. He is an owner of CSP (SBI) located at Nepalikhuti, Goalpara.

A total of 24 arrests have been made so far in connection to the case (CID PS Case No.20/2020 U/S 120(B)/406/409/419/420/468/471 IPC).
