Uproar in Amchang Gaon Panchayat after voter's name went missing from Electoral Roll

Guwahati: Sensation triggered in the first phase of the Panchayat Elections at Amchang Gaon Panchayat 21 No. Pragjyotishpur Zila Parishad of Kamrup (M) District after names of at least 451 people went missing from the electoral roll.

The incident led to an uproar among the people of the ward of No.8 and ward No.9 of Amchang Gaon Panchayat today after names of 316 voters from No. 8 ward went missing from the voter's list.

Similarly, in ward No. 9, around 135 voter's names were reported to be missing from the list in the first phase of the Panchayat Election.

As per reports, infuriated local voters created a chaotic situation in both the polling station at Pragjyotishpur Junior College and Pragjyotishpur LP School today.

They further demanded an enquiry into the incident.
