Violation of Traffic Rules: Rs 40,53,300 Fined In April

GUWAHATI: The enforcement drive carried out by the traffic police in Guwahati led to the collection of Rs 40,53,300 in the form of fines for violation of traffic rules in April this year in Guwahati.

The violations against which fines have been charged include riding without helmets (7,076 cases), violation of fastening seat belts (2,169 cases), use of tinted glass (831 cases), drink and drive (558 cases), seizure of licences (221), court cases (4382) etc. The total number of cases stands at 16,821. The highest number of cases is of riding without helmets.
