GUWAHATI: "We'll make it to Dispur again," said a confident Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Along with State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass and NEDA (North East Democratic Alliance) convener Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister addressed the media at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan here on Thursday.

Sonowal said, "We'll work with more dedication for the people of the State. Creating an 'Atmanirbhar Assam' in the country is what we're striving for.

"In the past five years, we worked with the Team Assam mindset, and that made us script success stories. We've successfully infused value in politics in the State.

"The enthusiasm seen among the voters in the just-concluded Assembly election in the State is the direct fallout of the State government's good deeds. We've got good results for good works. The people of the State want a BJP government at Dispur. We respect people of all communities and classes. They enjoyed facilities with dignity."

Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "People's participation in the Assembly election is memorable. The Congress and its allies are claiming big in various media houses. However, they'll face reverses on May 2 when the results will be declared. The BJP will come to power with a record number of seats. This time, the support from the people of the State is even more than what it was in 2016.

"The Opposition Congress was lonely in this election. It couldn't even depute party's polling agents in a number of polling stations. The Congress and its other constituent parties surrendered before Badruddin Ajmal. They were led by Ajmal, and the other side was led by the people of Assam.

"We're going to implement the 10 promises made before the election. The process has been already started to waive micro-finance loans so as to take the decision in the first sitting of the Cabinet."

Ranjeet Kumar Dass said, "We fulfilled the promises made. The people of the State have with us."
