Workshops on ‘Kisan Sampada Scheme’ end

GUWAHATI: Federation of Industry & Commerce for North Eastern Region (FINER), in collaboration with Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India (MoFPI) organized twenty three workshops on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojnain in order to create awareness among entrepreneurs, farmers, and farmer clusters.

These workshops have been organized in various towns of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. The Tripura event was graced by Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Minister of State, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. The workshops were also attended by Ashok Kumar, Joint Director, Dr. B.K. Behra, Economic Advisor and S.K. Verma, Deputy Director, MoFPI. The final event was conducted in the month of October.

Notably, SAMPADA Yojna is a comprehensive package to promote and subsidise in creating modern infrastructure and processes with efficient supply chain management from farm gate to retail outlet and exports. It will not only provide a big boost to the growth of entrepreneurship in food processing sector in the region, which is rich in resources, but also provide better returns to farmers.
