18 Asiatic storks found dead near Deepor Beel!

From our Correspondent
MIRZA, Jan 23: As many as 18 Asiatic storks were found dead near the railway track in the bank of Deepor Beel, a bird sanctuary and ramsar site in the city, today. The local people say that the birds died after consuming food from the dumping ground that looks like a hill in the area. Forest and veteriry personnel  have rushed to the spot. This development came close on the heels of fish dying in the ramsar site recently. The Pollution Control Board, Assam (PCBA) is yet to ascertain the reason behind the death of fish species in the Beel. Will the PCBA be able to ascertain the reason behind the death of Asiatic storks near the Beel now? It is something to be keenly watched at.
