2017: A year of achievements for CRPF

 GUWAHATI, Dec 30: CRPF IG NES Prakash D said that that the year 2017 has been a year of remarkable achievements for CRPF officers and men. The North-Eastern Sector which supervises counter-insurgency operations in Lower and Central Assam and Meghalaya has been able to bring in peace and stability in these areas, a press release said.    During this year 150 insurgents/linkmen and suspects were apprehended and a huge quantity of arms and ammunition recovered. Various contraband items were also seized in operations, the release said.

The personnel of the Sector participated in the Swatch Bharat Abhiyan and Sankalp Se Sidhi programme enthusiastically. In Assam the flood relief work undertaken by the CRPF battalions was beneficial to a large number of people. The sector battalions had performed duties and won accolades in the Shree Amar th Yatra and the Assembly Elections in UP, Manipur and Gujarat.  Various medical camps were held in schools under the civic action programme which won the goodwill of the people.  The CRPF men excelled in the sports field also. The wrestling team secured 2nd position in the All India Wrestling Competition held at gpur, the release added.
