4 youths detained for demanding cash

AZARA, June 24: The police today detained four youths – Hitesh Kalita, Dhruba Kalita, Pranjal Kakati and Mintu Kalita – for demanding cash from a young man and a girl by intimidating them of taking to the police or calling the media. One Jaitul Ali has been absconding. A few days back the five youths got a pair of a young man and a girl atop Chokordeo Hill. The five caught hold of the pair, demanded cash by intimidating them to inform the police or calling the media. They also outraged the modesty of the girl in front of the youth accompanying her and took viral video clips of the event and circulated it among their friends.
