Aguai Zua tells women to keep going on

GUWAHATI, April 11: Mumbai-based Assamese singer Mayuri Raj has done it all by herself, in nine months! Her music video – Aguai Zua (keep moving on) that took a nine-month gestation period – was released at Guwahati Press Club on Wednesday.

Actor Cheta Das, actor Barsha Rani Bishaya, Prof. Geeta Baruah and Dulal Roy were present at the programme.

Aguai Zua is a song authored by Mayuri herself. The very theme of the song depicts it like a ballad as it rrates what progressive women are exactly like. The song says as to how a woman can make stride in life despite all odds in her way. She leaves everything behind in life wearing a broad smile in her face. This song bespeaks of those women who, instead of blaming their fates, gather strength from their failures in life, overcome shyness and keep going ahead.

This video has a daring back story. Since Mayuri, a mother of two twin girls, is based in Mumbai, she wanted to give her video the best of touches that can make it get a place in the music world. However, for a beginner like her, making big mes in the music industry render their service for her video is next to impossible. Having failed in her repeated moves to reach out to experts who can set her song to music, Mayuri had to slug her guts out to set her song to music herself. She had to do from the scratch to make that really happen.

The hurdle before her was video editing. When she got no helping hands from experts, she had to get that too done by herself with the help of her husband.
