APSC scam Accused not going into a huddle!
By our Staff Reporter
GUWAHATI, Nov 25: Former Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) chairman Rakesh Paul has been languishing in Guwahati Central Jail since his arrest. Twenty-one ACS, APS and allied cadres have also been lodged in the jail later. However, against what was expected, they are yet to go into a huddle!
A highly-placed source said that lodging the 21 cadres into the same jail was a calculated move to give them enough time and space to go into a huddle so that more facts relating to the the , hitherto unknown, come to the fore. However, according to the source, Paul and all the cadres have been maintaining a stoic silence, as though they do not even have any nodding acquaintance among them. Rakesh Paul is lodged in Ward No. 3 in building No. 2. Barring the five women cadres who are in women cell, the 16 male cadres are in different wards in building No. 4 and 5. There is none in the jail to lavish them any sort of favours, say in supplying them special food, for not being used to behind bars. They are provided with food same as other inmates of the jail – a cup of tea and a chapatti of 90 gram flour in the morning, rice and dal with 150 gm curry as lunch from 10.45 am to 11 am and rice and dal as dinner at 4 pm. They get either egg or fish or meat in two meals a week.
