ATASU stages protest

GUWAHATI, Aug 18: The activists of All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU) today staged a two-hour demonstration at Dighalipukhuri here in support of their various demands including preservation of historical monuments of Ahom era, scrapping the decision of granting citizenship to Hindu Bangladeshi tiols and cancellation of the decision of auctioning of the 12 oilfields of the state besides granting ST status to Tai Ahom community.
