GUWAHATI, Sept 11: The BJP Assam Pradesh hit back Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora for his adverse comments on the report card of the first 100-day action plan taken by the BJP Government in Assam.

Bora criticized the State Government and sought the report card of the 100-day action plan taken by the government, at a function at Morigaon.

In a statement issued to the press today, State BJP spokespersons Bijan Mahajan and Jayanta Malla Baruah said: “The statement made by Ripun Bora is bereft of factual truthfulness.”

The two spokespersons said: “The State Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal, is proceeding in the right direction with the blessings of the people of Assam, irrespective of caste, creed and religion. In the past 15 years, the Congress continued the syndicate raj and corruption, squeezing the State exchequer and leaving behind a debt burden of Rs 17,000 crore. It was large-scale syndicate-raj by the Congress that scripted the defeat of the party in the recently-concluded Assembly elections in the State.”

Mahajan further said: “It’s known to all that the BJP isn’t run like the Congress party, remotely-controlled by Madam Sania and Rahul Gandhi sitting in Delhi. The BJP Government in Assam is run by the blessings of the people of the State, with their participation in general and suggestions in particular.”
