BJP meet to chalk out route map for development of minorities

GUWAHATI, May 9: The State BJP Minority Cell is going to discuss the problems afflicting the minorities in the State at a meeting at Atal Behari Vajpayee Bhavan in the city on May 11. The party’s tiol minority morcha president Abdul Rashid Ansari is going to take part at the meeting to be presided over by State BJP Minority Cell president Mominul Aowal.

Talking to The Sentinel, Aowal said: “In the run-up to the Assembly election in Assam the BJP did publish a vision document encompassing various problems and prospects of various communities staying in the State. The document has a wide coverage on the problems afflicting the minorities in Assam. In consonce with Prime Minister rendra Modi’s slogan ‘sabke saath, sabke vikash’, State BJP president Sarbanda Sonowal did call a meeting of all minority and other leaders in the State and heard the problems afflicting them. Based on that stock-taking, the vision document of the party had a big chapter on the development of minorities in Assam where they are backward.”

Aowal said that the May 11 meeting is going to find ways as to how the assurances given to the minority people of Assam by the BJP in its vision document can be met. Besides top leaders of the party, leaders of various minority organizations will also take part at the meeting.
