GUWAHATI, Dec 23: The BJP Assam Pradesh feels that its leaders and cadres in the State will get their pulses racing once it holds the meeting of its shaktikendra conveners in Guwahati on Sunday. The party feels that its power lies in its booths comprising some 6,200 shaktikendras in the State.
Talking to the media at Khapara playground in Guwahati on Saturday, State BJP general secretary Dilip Saikia said: “This meeting is significant for us in many ways in the run-up to the panchayat poll and Lok Sabha election in the State. We’re taking this opportunity to make our shaktrikendras know the stance of the party on a number of burning issues in Assam like the Citizenship Amendment Bill.”
Saikia further said: “Dispur has around 30 departments that have various projects and schemes. Through this meeting we’re going to make our workers aware of various government schemes and projects, their beneficiaries, selection of right beneficiaries, how to approach for benefits and the like.”
