Brickbats at Mathgharia

GUWAHATI, February 23: The police and the local people of Mathghoria area were engaged in brickbats leading to injuries in both the sides. The Kamrup (M) district administration, led by Dispur Circle Officer Chinmoy th, was conducting an eviction drive in the area. As many as 30 houses were evicted today. According to sources, following stone pelting at the police personnel by the evicted people, the police resorted to lathi-charge and injured some people. Some of the police personnel also sustained injuries in the fracas.
