BSS moves SEBA on anomalies

GUWAHATI, March 15: Bodo Sahitya Sabha demanded the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) of, what it says, compensation of marks for erroneous questions in 2017 HSLC question papers of general science and social science for Bodo medium students.
The BSS said that it has been found after examition by experts that the terminologies used in seven general science questions carrying ten marks and nine social science questions carrying 19 marks are not in accordance with the respective textbooks. “This has put thousands of Bodo medium students in great trouble while answering the questions. We want the affected students are given full marks against the erroneous questions,” BSS said, and added: “At Baghmara examition centre in Barpeta district and Lakhimpur Academy Centre in Lakhimpur district the students were given the rejected question papers of social science to Bodo medium students. While Baghmara centre has 55 students, the centre in Lakhimpur has seven. They wrote the answers of the rejected question papers. This is an irresponsible work of the in-charges of the two centres. It’s a punishable crime. We urge the SEBA to see that the students do not have to suffer loss.”
