Carcass of elephant found

AZARA, Dec 3: The carcass of an elephant with its trunk partly taken away atop Chokordou hill near Deepor  Beel has stirred up a virtual permutation and combition on the possible causes leading to the death of the pachyderm.

The condition of the carcass has led Forest officials to presume that the animal to have died around a week back. With the local people saying that they saw an ailing elephant languishing in Deepor Beel for two days, wildlife lovers are of the view that the elephant could have been saved had it been provided treatment.
