City recalls Kalaguru

GUWAHATI, June 20: The city today observed the 48th death anniversary of Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha and paid him tribute. Several progrmmes were held throughout the city on the occasion of the death anniversary of the legend. The All Guwahati Students’ Union under the aegis of the Kamrup tya Samiti observed the death anniversary at Kamrup Bhaskar tya Mandir, Uzanbazar, by felicitating make-up artist Mukul Das and singer Tapan Lahkar for their contribution in their respective fields. Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today paid tribute to the Kalaguru at Rajiv Bhawan in the city. Several other organizations, including ‘Annesan’- an NGO, also observed the day.
