CJM court sentences Zubeen 6-month RI

GUWAHATI, Oct 6: The Kamrup CJM Court has sentenced singer Zubeen Garg for six-month rigorous imprisonment (RI) (three-month each in each of the two IPC sections – 323 and 506 – slapped against him) together with a fine of Rs 5,000. The case was of 2013 for Garg slapping the son of a lawyer. A case to this effect was registered at Geeta gar police station in the city. The court, however, granted the bail plea of the singer. The counsel of the singer let the media know that the singer would move a higher court against the verdict.
