CM for multidimensiol role of teachers

GUWAHATI, Jan 20: Advocating multidimensiol role for teachers in nurturing talents of students, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal laid stress on the need for unfolding better opportunities for cultural and sports activities at educatiol institutions in the state. 

Chief Minister Sonowal said this while iugurating the newly constructed Bipin Chandra Baruah Library at Paschim Guwahati College in Guwahati on Saturday. Coinciding the occasion, he also laid the foundation stone for construction of an auditorium in the college.

“Our teachers must put their energies to build strong ethical foundation for students so that they can distinguish between right and wrong. All civilizations have stormed through many challenges and our legendary persolities teach us how to overcome challenges to lead a successful life. Our youth must stand the test of time and exhibit their best in prevailing over all odds,” the Chief Minister said.

Sonowal urged the students to work hard with discipline, honesty and integrity to attain success in life.

While president of the college magement committee Dr. Dhiren Kumar Sarma presided over the function, local MLA Ramendra rayn Kalita, Chief Minister’s Media Adviser Hrishikesh Goswami, Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University Dr. Mridul Hazarika, Vice Chancellor of Krish Kanta Handiqui Dr. Hitesh Deka and a host of other dignitaries were present in the programme.
