GUWAHATI, Nov 13: Former Power Minister Pradyut Bordoloi today said that the tea garden workers have facing severe problems due to the demonetization of 500 and 1000 notes.

“The tea garden workers are paid either weekly or after every 15 days. Due to demonetization the tea garden owners have failed to pay the workers of their dues. We can foresee law and order situation in the tea garden areas of Assam. If needed cash should be airlifted. We condemn the state government’s iction on this issue,” Bordoloi said in a press meet today. He also expressed concern for the tourists and lamented how the tourists coming from Sweden have been left in the lurch due to lack of any directives from the government for the help of the tourist as far as demonetization is concerned.

Bordoloi asked the state governments for quick action for the help of the tourists as ATMs are out of money most of the time. Bordoloi further said that many people are facing problems as a section of hospitals are refusing to accept the scraped notes due to less inflow of the new cash.
