DAAA meet on Jan 6

GUWAHATI, Jan 4: The Delhi Alumni Association of Assam (DAAA) is going to hold its first convention – Imagining Axom – on January 6 at a city hotel in Guwahati.  Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi is going to open the cultural reunion programme. To be present at the programme are all DAAA members including civil servants, lawyers, bankers, jourlists, entrepreneurs, social activists and others.  Highlights of the programme include an audio-visual presentation in memory of Jn Pith Award-wining writer Dr. Indira Goswami, besides the prelimiry session and two technical sessions – imagining Axom and Red River. Prominent speakers are authors Anup Kumar Dutta, Kula Saikia and Mayur Bora; lawyer Krish Sarma, OIL Director Rupsihka Bora, IIT-Guwahati dean Chandan Mahanta, consultant Mukul Gogoi and entrepreneur Dipannita Jaiswal. Singer Mayuk Hazarika will perform at the programme where ‘Imagining Axom’, a souvenir on the occasion, and a Report on Red River Talks will also be released. A website www.assamfloods.org will also be launched on the occasion.
